Do you like bluffin’ and scheamin’ and lying to your friends in games? Well, with these cool bluffing games you can do just that – move contraband over the border, become the most influential family in a futuristic Italian city-state, or help Mordred destroy King Arthur and the knights of the round table to rule Camelot. Here are some great bluffing games that we recommend.
Sheriff of Nottingham
The small city of Nottingham is a bit unruly. Why? Well, because the title of sheriff is always going from one person to the other. Frankly, no one knows how lenient each sheriff will be. You, a merchant, must declare goods you wish to bring into the city, which are secretly stored in your burlap sack. Are you truthful? Are you lying? Are you bluffing? The Sheriff must determine who gets into the city with their goods, who gets inspected, and who may have their goods confiscated! Hope you’re not found out! Also, fear not, you’ll be Sheriff soon enough!
The Resistance: Avalon
Want a fast and easy party game that pits two sides against each other to see who will rule Camelot? Sure, it doesn’t sound like the ideal way to declare a ruler, but it’s still better than some modern electoral systems! This game is a re-theming of his original game, The Resistance, but also adds new roles that allow this game to be different than the original. Will you let the kingdom fall into the wrong hands?
Coup
Some of you may want something more futuristic. Well, say no more! Here’s Coup. You are the head of a family in a futuristic Italian city-state. You need to manipulate, bluff and bribe your way to power. Your objective is to destroy the influence of all the other families, forcing them into exile. Only one family will survive. Will it be yours?
Werewords
You hear the howls in the night. That’s right; it’s Werewords. This game is a blend between the traditional Killer you used to play with your high school classmates, and a Dark Stories style guessing game. It also has a time element, providing much-needed intensity to a genre that can easily drag. Overall, it’s awesome!
We hope you found these cool bluffing games interesting enough to try out on your next game night. If you’d like to get your hands on any of these or similar games, be sure to check out our online shop.
